Hate feeling like this! :-(

Hi I’m Shaun I’m new on here so anyway here goes, I’ve had pretty bad anxiety for years as long as I can remember really but lately it’s getting really bad every morning I have an overwhelming feeling come over me like I’m really scared or nervous that something really bad is going to happen to the point it actually makes me sick, the other morning I got up for work felt all these horrible feelings inside and made me panic and thought I was having heart attack but I fainted half way down my stairs and ended up in hospital with my girlfriend crying her eyes out panicking I had a heart murmur when I was younger so it scares me even more that something really bad is going to happen! Also I could be walking to shop or somewhere I’ve been 1000’s of times but a sudden build up of pressure inside me causes me to not know where I am like my head is in water and nothing feels real, this feeling only lasts about 40 seconds but totally freaks me out while this feeling is in full flow but it’s getting more frequent now I start CBT sessions soon and hopefully will have my own councillor soon, I really can’t go on like this it’s actually started to ruin my everyday life! Thanks for reading guys.

Hi Shaun! I know EXACTLY how you feel. My anxiety is at its worse in the morning. Especially between 3am - 4am. It’s really good that you are starting therapy. It’s one of the most helpful things so you’re doing the right thing.

It will get better and you won’t feel this way forever.

You’re not alone in this

No problem!

So I’ve suffered from anxiety since 2011. It stopped me from a lot of things. I’ve been on and off with feeling okay and also on and off of medication. However this passed April I suffered from a really really bad anxiety attack and it changed everything. I’m still trying to regroup myself from it and some days I’m really good and others not to much. Like this week has been really shitty.

I do a bunch of things to try to distract myself from my mind racing because that’s where it all comes from. Your mind is your worst enemy.

I’ve had a shitty past couple of weeks too more then usual, I’ve lost jobs really good jobs in the past because of this anxiety and I’ve just lost another one last week I had a really bad morning that spiralled out of control which led to me collapsing down my stairs injuring myself and off in the ambulance with my girlfriend I went, so I’m now taking the steps to get back to the place I need to be with my mind, it just seems so difficult and nothings going to work but il keep going to all my meetings and things and hopefully be more positive :) but you are right your mind is your worst enemy!

Hi, have you ever considered taking magnesium glycinate ?. You sound as though it would help you out a lot. I know how it is with anxiety and depression, proper shitty time to say the least.

Hi and thanks for the feedback, I’ve just had a look online about the benefits of magnesium to help my situation sounds like it could, I’ve got an appointment with my gp tomorrow so I will be sure to mention it, thanks for taking the time to post to me.

You're welcome but your GP if they know anything will tell you that your magnesium level in your blood is at a constant level, if it falls it is taken from other parts of the body to regulate it in your blood because it is vital for your heart. So a test will come back ok no matter what, they may know this and tell you, they may not and say get a test and then your blood level comes back ok and you don't need it.

I take it and it ended up being one of the best things I ever did.

A blood test is not a sign of deficiency, symptoms are, check them out.

I never asked my GP about it.

That’s really helpful thanks so much I’m really going to look into this.

So how much and how often would you take of the magnesium and what form.

You would buy a good brand, Drs Best chelated magnesium from Amazon is the best you can get. Isn't cheap but half to one tablet a day will ease your anxiety and depression alot.

As long as you are not on any SSRIs and you have no kidney issues you can take it. Personally I find it better than any sedative or anti depressants and it's natural too.

Try it you will not be disappointed.

What would you say was the best mg is to buy?
