For Aga but feel free to offer advice

Went hospital today as I thought I had done my Achilles. Turns out it’s an infected bite and I literally can’t walk. They did bloods and said it’s slightly infected? Not sure how they know that but whilst I was there I thought I’d get an ecg and that was fine. Since they told me it’s infected I’ve actually started feeling worse headache etc and my whole leg and foot hurts. Worried about amputation and sepsis now.

Did they tell you to keep your foot elevated as much as possible? That will help with reducing swelling, which will improve circulation to the area. If you use pillows to elevate your leg avoid placing them under your knees as that can occlude the popliteal artery. Sheepskin if you have any is nice to rest the area on top of.

You want to make sure reddened areas are not increasing. Outline them with a pen if you have to & report expansion. Are you a smoker? Do whatever it takes to stop if you are. If you are a diabetic & your healthcare facility has someone like a Vascular Clinic Nurse Specialist try to meet with them.

I don’t smoke never have done never will. What’s the vascular clinic about?

Large healthcare facilities may have specialty clinics for their various services, especially teaching hospitals. If there is a Vascular Surgery department they may have a outpatient clinic for intake & follow up care. This type of clinic can become very proficient with foot infections in general. The nurse specialists don’t do surgeries so have no fear of them! As you seemed concerned about your infection becoming systemic I mentioned this type of clinic as a potential resource.

Forgot to ask, if they are calling this cellulitis(?) did they place you on any sort of antibiotic?

They said it doesn’t need antibiotics yesterday. My bloods showed slight infection. Said to keep an eye on it.

Should you be a diabetic(?) & have access to a healthcare provider that works in that discipline I’d call them up to ask for their opinion. Diabetic foot problems might need to be treated aggressively & they maybe a useful resource to ascertain that.

Good, they can be slower healers. Were you wearing shoes when this occurred? The picture you posted does not seem to show a “bullseye” in the rash (a classic sign of Lyme disease). Can you see one up close? That is one thing to be mindful of theses days whenever you get any bite as you probably already know. Hopefully you are experiencing some improvement.

treat this like any old fashioned infection. Hot and cold foot baths. Cold compression . take your vitamins , put your foot up.

if your doc says no antibiotics draw a mark around the swelling to keep an eye on the progress or resolution of the bite.+ these things tKe time.

Call the doc back if you notice it hurts more.

Watch a YouTube Video of DaVid Goggins.
