My mom takes the seroquel but it's because of dementia it keeps her from lashing out. That's not a usually medication for anxiety

I started seroquel over a month ago as my panic and anxiety were so out of control even on max dose of Zoloft and 1mg xanax 3 times a day. After 2 trips to er and an inpatient hospitalization (didn’t sleep for 47 hours straight) started on seroquel. I take 100mg at night and 25 in morning. The 100 at night is great and I haven’t slept like this in years. It is commonly used to treat anxiety and depression even though it is an antipsychotic. Drs are using it as an add on med to SSRI s because they stop working. Do not get caught up reading all of the side effects as they sound scary. This med has slowed my mind down 70% and when a bad thought comes in, it goes back out quickly. You need to start at a low dose (25mg) and work your way up to a therapeutic dose. People with bipolar disorder can take 800 mg per day or more. You won’t need much. I’m also going to add lamictal this week. I am like a walking pharmacy at this point. Good luck and let us know how it goes!!
