I suffer from anxiety and go long periods of like an hours sleep a night, I take propranolol (though trying to not take it as it seems its got less effective the longer I've taken it) I've got a choice of sertraline 20mg, or mirtazapine 15mg or nothing? Which of the two meds do you think will help me snap out of the anxiety and the sleeplessness. I've had around 10 hrs sleep in the past week and it's really getting me down. I've trained really hard at the gym past two nights to the point I felt like I'd collapse but didn't want to go to sleep too soon for fear of waking up in like an hour or two, that has happened a lot! I'm normally able to fight past a lot of the anxiety and force myself to get our of my comfort zone but when I'm not sleeping it just wipes me out my body is absolutely pushed to the limits but can't sleep so it doesn't repair and while this is going on my mind is racing and I can't switch off, any advice or similar experience anybody? Thanks in advance π
Sertraline or mirtazapine with propranolol... - Anxiety Support
Sertraline or mirtazapine with propranolol for anxiety and sleeplessness?
Mirtazapine, is more sedating, so if your looking for help sleeping this med could be the one. It does come with side effects, that you can google and then make an informed decision. Also ask your doc about hydroxzine for sleep and anxiety as an add on. Best of luck to you
Thanks very much for your reply sunontheice! Much appreciated. I went with the mirtazapine and yes I've not stopped sleeping which, has been great though now sleeping too much π but I'd much rather sleep too much than barely at all... I'm sure I'll get used to it and be able to structure my time as time goes by... There is side effects but I'll deal with those. Will definitely check out the hydroxzine with my doc! Once again, thanks a lot for your help, and best of luck to you too πππ»π―
