Hi everyone as you all know I’m a major health anxiety worrier I’ve had it many years since losing my mum 12 years ago..for the past week I’ve been getting a slight sharp pain in my chest/left breast area I’ve had a meltdown thinking I’m having a heart attack of some kind I went to the drs as my bpm was 104 yesterday and then went down to to 84bpm I don’t even know if this is a normal reading...I’ve been drs today she did my blood pressure said it was perfect and said it’s my anxiety that’s causing it....I could of had a ecg at the surgery but she said it will only trace if Ive had a heart attack not having one and if I get it anymore this week to go back to reassure me but I worry if they haven’t seen it and I do have one.. I know it’s silly but I can’t help it I’m wondering if it’s because I’ve lost 2 friends last week one had a heart attack and passed at 38 with no warning it was tragic and my one of best friends of 30 years ended her own life too so I was thinking maybe I’m dwelling over them does anybody else ever go through this

Thanks in advance

Nat

Hello I’m so sorry for the loss you must deal with due to your friends’ death. :(

I understand it is so hard, my first depression symptoms started when I lost my father, and now I have a panic disorder. I think you are very upset right now and are still dealing with the whole situation and that must be why you are feeling this way. One of the main symptom of anxiety that all of us have is chest pain (at least most of us). I also had pain in my breasts, like really bad pain, but it also passed. I know it’s hard to accept but you will feel better. Wish you all the best ❤️

Oh yes they are :(

You are welcome, I’m here and you can always message me if you want to talk to someone.

Have you ever considered going to the therapist? I found that helps me a lot...

That’s how it makes people like us feel isn’t it that we have to diagnose ourselves haha

Hi Nat!

Christina here. I get the exact same symptoms every day! It’s exhausting! I too am in CBT. I find that that does help a lot. I’ve been to several doctors in the last 6 months because mine was out of control at one point. I was completely convinced I was going to have a heart attack and die. When we go through very tramatic things the symptoms seem to be much worse and it’s hard to accept that maybe we are ok and nothing bad is going to happen to us. However, it does get better! Hang in there! And, if nothing else, I think you did the right thing going to your doctor just to get checked out. Nothing wrong with that. That’s what they’re there for. Hope you find some peace soon. All the best,

Christina.

I'm sorry for your loss.. Please don't feel bad for "dwelling over" the loss. They were very recent and very unexpected. It is quite natural to feel sad and even depressed. You can let yourself grieve over the loss. If you have a hard time with it, you can reach out to grief counselors in your local area perhaps. Perhaps you can find some insight into your own struggles at bit.ly/1AvXfHT. You can find what others are struggling with and perhaps how you can handle yours.
