Oh does your heart always thud then? If your really concerned go have a check up at the doctors explain your feelings but there’s many reasons for skipping a beat and I don’t think you’ll heart will stop

Do you feel ok in yourself ? Or just worried ? I personally wouldn’t be too worried but that’s easy for me to say as I don’t worry about these things x

I get a racing heart sometimes mostly when I get up from being sat down or doing something as I don’t do an awful lot at all, must be a horrible feeling to worry, I’m sure you’ll be fine since you’ve been checked out and they’ve said it’s normal just abit fast x

Every thought whether conscious or subconscious creates a physical effect. Could be your obsessing is making your heart do the thing you don't want. You've had the checks you've been cleared as OK so likely your ok, it's anxiety driven.

So change your thoughts, when you feel anxious count backwards from 100 in 4's. Go for a walk in the grass without your shoes on, something to change your thoughts, which will bring a different physical affect. Just for the record, before I was feeling better, I went the doc and told him about my heart missing a beat - his reply was priceless. He looked at me and said with a big smile - well that's great - your heart is simply regulating itself - how wonderful is that!

I'll always remember him!

Peace!

Absolutely anxiety can make your heart flip and flop and skip And jump and race. I have been through all of it. I have been on the holter moniter. I have had stress tests—I’ve had it race to the point of crazy. Anxiety can do it. You may be obsessing about it—especially with a stethoscope. I know it is scary. It still makes me anxious at times. Maybe try listening to a guided meditation or nature sounds would help you. It’s worth a try.

Glendajean, I couldn't have said it better. I too have dealt with this for many years. I don't feel it all and then there's times it's pounding so hard I swear it's gonna bust out of my chest. It has "skipped", thumped, etc. I've also had the stress tests, echo cardiograms, blood work and all is normal. Doctor said it's anxiety. It can be very annoying but yes, distraction is the best way to make it go away.

Yes I get this and that floating feeling like I’m on a boat or sinking if I’m sat down, I’ve had loads of ecgs my most recent was last Friday and it was completely fine. It is down to anxiety. But I know how you feel I have this obsession with my heart to

in reply to Kierra87

Wow! I can so relate to this too. I've been experiencing the head feeling like it's floating. Sometimes tingling too. All part of anxiety.

Hi there - well my own thought is to maybe put the stethoscope away for a while. You don't say whether your take anything for anxiety, but obviously you can buy over the counter 'calmers' - just ask the Pharmacist. A gentle herbal blend will just help to take the edge off of how your worrying, help

you sleep too. Sounds as though your circulatory system checked out ok.

Have you tried alternative therapies, something like a naturopath, who can help balance your whole system. But feeling anxious is obviously going to make you feel wired, try to take your mind off - say watch something interesting or funny on tv. Make your yourself comfy & get something nice to eat. If you still feel bothered, then speak to your Dr, that's what they're there for. Try to stop worrying & have a better evening. Take care

Hi, I hope you are feeling better today. I can relate to the fear you feel. I've had an irregular heart beat for over 40 yrs. No medications ever helped it. I can't say I learned to live with it, I just try to get through the bad episodes. You may be experiencing PVCs. I describe the feeling as "picture a fish out of water on a dock....it is flopping around....that's what it feels like in my chest". Mine can go on for hours at a time. Even after all these many years I still panic and feel fear. I assume you have been checked out by a MD or cardiologist?
