Yes!!! Sunny days make my anxiety go way way up. I actually prefer nighttime for this reason

It makes me feel sick.. weak and no energy

The sunny days can make me feel low and anxious because they make me restless, like I should be out doing something, also there are more people around and as I struggle with social anxiety I like to go out when it’s a little quieter, so have to choose my times.

Usually try the supermarket around 8pm when the suns gone and most people have too 😊

I’m not keen on the sun these days ....

Scared of it for some weird reason. Everyone else seems to wish for hot sunny days......I dread them x

Hi warkie, I found the responses to your post interesting in that we are never alone in what we feel or think with anxiety. It is true that there are more people out and about on a sunny day. The anxious person likes to hide from socializing if possible. The sun makes everything too clear and feels like we're in a spot light. I think the heat makes us anxious for many reasons. Getting dehydrated, maybe feeling a little bit more lightheaded, associating the feeling with anxiety attacks when we get warm and sweaty. A lot of psychological thoughts behind a hot summer day. Gone are the days when we would bask in the sun, jump into the pool and laugh w/o a care in the world.

You're not alone Warkie...I'm sure there are many more of us who feel the same way. It's going to be a long hot summer. :) xx

You're never alone vix41. Making sure you hydrate during the hot weather and wear a hat or sunglasses to reduce the squinting from the sun may help reduce the headaches. xx

Yes my theory is that heat makes us worse. Basically anything hot or 'inflammed'. I was feeling anxious and happened to eat a spicy meal. I felt suddenly like my whole body was on fire. I had a total anxiety attack. It was winter and super cold outside but I stripped down to my underwear! I was sweating! After that I cut spicy food, sugar, coffee, alcohol and other stimulants that cause inflammation in my diet. It helped enormously! I definitely believe in an effect of heat (internal and external)
