Stroke or anxiety?

Sooo Just a quick question. I suffer with quite bad health anxiety that I can control to some extent and started two years ago and now it’s definitely a lot better. Anyways lately I’ve been having this headache that was kinda on and off like a stabbing pain but once I took a painkiller a few days ago it went away. But Anywyas It kinda got me worried I’m gonna have a stroke and now every evening I suffer with lightheaded and as if I can’t feel my body sometimes and I guess slight shortness of breath and confusion and palpitations but I would recognise this as anxiety really as it only starts happening in the evenings and when I wake up I’m fine and during the day but I do find myself constantly thinking if I’m gonna have a stroke soon or something so I’m guessing at the end of the time I worry myself so much I get the symptoms. So I’m just here asking if it’s possible it’s just my anxiety playing with me or should I worry? I should mention as well that I do not drink enough so headaches are possible from dehydration with me.

Hi Angiecis22, I would say your health anxiety is getting the best of you. Looking over the last 2 years of your posts, most of them have been about the sensations in your head and concerns over stroke/heart attack. At age 21, your chances are more than slim that anything catastrophic could be going on. Your fear and worry over this issue has now caused a repeated pattern of symptoms. What we believe will happen, will happen. I don't mean a stroke, I mean feeling the same every evening. Changing your way of thinking as the evening approaches can help eliminate the symptoms. You are absolutely correct in that dehydration plays a big part of these feelings in our head from dizzy headed feeling to headaches. Worrying just perpetuates the fear and before long you are in a fear begets fear cycle.

My suggestion is to start using meditation/relaxation and deep breathing on YouTube. There are many Audio Videos that will talk you through a deep relaxation. Deep Breathing can eliminate the dizzy feeling in your head (along with drinking water). I hope you take that first step in turning your thoughts to a more positive approach. You are safe Angie. You are okay. Enjoy your evening xx

Thank you so much for replying and for this response it has put my mind at ease. I do find That I am able to control my symptoms and anxiety most days but I guess this was just really getting to me so this reply has certainly helped! I will have a go with the meditation videos on YouTube and see if they help in any way! X
