Challenging my 24/7 dizziness, then feel like back to square one. Help.

As you all know, I've posted quite a lot about how I've been suffering from this false sense of motion and unbalanced feeling a couple months after I gave birth to my son nearly a year ago.

Because I've had it for so long, I'm so anxious because of it.

I'm still waiting for a balance clinic appointment towards the end of May so they can tell me whether I do have a vestibular issue or is all JUST ANXIETY.

But would anxiety make me feel all of this?

Anyway, I thought I'd try and see how I'd feel by standing up completely still on the spot.

For a couple of seconds I was okay, then the swaying and unbalanced feeling got worse and I had this sudden dropping sensations I've mentioned before.

So it was like a sudden wave came over my body like the floor had dissapeared and my whole body jumps and tenses.

After that, panic starts and I rush to go and sit on the sofa.

I feel like everytime I try, I'm back to square one.

Anyone else have any advice on how I can get through this?

My heart goes out to you. I have had similar happen because of anxiety and also because of a medication side effect. I’m so sorry you are going through this. I think to remember it passes but I am so sorry that I can’t think of any good advice. I hope that in May you will find answers you need.

I get the same, like swaying, drunk feeling and vision problems especially when I am in a busy place with lots of noise, people and traffic or in huge shopping centers. I went ENT Doctor did tests, aside from saying that I am going death in my right ear there was nothing else he could do. I have learned to live with it but there are times that I get anxious and puts me off going out, but if I do I try to ignore it although the feeling is there.

Hey Lucyjane I was reading some of your past post and it sounds a lot like what I get sometimes. Mine comes in episodes that last for hours, hard to move my head, lay, I throw up, I can’t walk because it feels like I have something loose in my brain and it jiggles and it feels awful inside, and extreme dizziness. I also get the feeling of my body dropping or at night when trying to sleep it feels like If im falling and my whole body jumps. A lot of the symptoms you have I have and I’ve been told that i could have Ménière’s disease because I keep having bouts of vertigo attacks. Let me tell you this, if you’re having these symptoms first and then the anxiety kicks in, then it’s not anxiety that’s making you feel this way. Yes vertigo attacks cause a lot of anxiety but anxiety doesn’t cause vertigo attacks. See, when I first started going through this I was told anxiety because of my long history with panic attacks and anxiety but I knew it wasn’t, This felt different, it didn’t feel like I was having a heart attack, it felt like I was having a stroke! My brain was spinning inside, i couldn’t look up, I couldn’t walk because my head felt aweful and when I did walk, it felt like I was walking on a rocking boat, and i felt like i was fainting. Just know that a vestibular problem goes hand in hand with anxiety and not the other way around. I’ve been having these bouts of vertigo on and off since September of 2017 and it took 5 months to finally get me into a specialist to see if it’s meneiers. Btw I’m not a doctor but it sounds like you might be experiencing vestibular migraines.

Hi Hun, I've felt the same dizzy/lightheaded/off balance sensation every minute of every day for the past 5 1/2 years, it's truly awful, I've had all the normal Ear,Head, Heart tests done and I'm told it's anxiety/Stress. I also have many many other horrid constant symptoms daily, that have turned my life upside down for all this time, My heart goes out to you as it really is awful xx

Heck ya I had those issues. I've had times when I was so unsteady I thought I was going to faint. But that was early stages of my anxiety. I've learned now how to breathe and relax when I feel it coming. The one thing I've never been able to cure is the headaches and the brain fog.
