Nightmares and fears of losing it.

So I've been dealing with horribly vivid nightmares for a couple weeks now, and it is starting to get to me. In them, I constantly watch my friends get hurt, or hurt them, either intentionally. Its got to the point where now I worry it might actually happen during the day. I feel like I am constantly reminding myself not to do things, despite being a pacifist and non violent before this all started. Talked to my counsellor about this and she said it could be my sertraline messing with me. Is there something that can be done to stop the thoughts and fears? Could it be the meds as well? I feel I'm losing it.

TrippyMcGuire762. medication was the first thing I thought of. You'd be surprised in how meds can cause very vivid dreams or horrible nightmares depending on the part of the brain that the medication is acting on. I would have a talk with the doctor prescribing your med, it may need to be replaced or adjusted. I wish you well Trippy

Thanks. That's what the counsellor recommended.

No I didn't stop. I just wanted the nightmares and worried I'm having to stop.
