caitsxxx1, it sounds like an over release of adrenaline causing you to feel the butterflies, the heart then racing because of the fear as well as shaking and nervous swallowing. There's nothing the ambulance can do that you couldn't And that is start deep breathing, slow and long deliberate breaths. Slow inhale, hold and exhale for 7 seconds saying relaxxxx

Once you are in the throws of anxiety it might be best to tune into YouTube....type in Audio Meditation/Relaxation for Anxiety Attack....Listen carefully to each and every word that is spoken.

For those 5-10 min you are under the control of the speaker...listening and focusing on the video and not on yourself. Breathe caits....Let us know how you are doing...

Any deep breathing videos with only nature sounds could help . I wouldn’t try guided meditation yet as some folks hate hearing people talk while going thru a panic attack ...at least I do. I’d only prefer nature sounds and meditate . Relax though sweetie. You’ll be fine . Go somewhere quiet if you’re in your house/family house/friends( or bf) house ..or maybe the bathroom if you’re out , and relax. If you’re in your house, go to a room , leave the door open if you don’t want to feel too trapped , put on the nature sounds and relax. Don’t stress, maybe put on a fan & cool off ... that’s always the right mix of things that calm me :) I know the panic attack will fizzle out & you’ll be fine again . If it gets to where you may want to get looked at , don’t let them shun you away because it’s anxiety . But I honestly wouldn’t call for a clinic . That bill will be ridiculous..I keep mentioning about the bills lol but I promise you I’ve had so many visits for panic attacks they recognize me as I walk in . :/

Hi Caitsxxx1,

I agree with the other two bloggers that it was a panic attack - the thing to do now is to think about what the trigger was e.g. what was happening just before the panic really set in. If you can think about the event and what you were thinking you might be able to ward off another one. If you cannot stop a panic attack in it's tracks, then you just have to accept it and wait it out. The worst of a panic attack usually goes for 10-20 minutes before the adrenaline runs out. However, you can feel the ongoing symptoms such as exhaustion and overthinking for much longer.

Don't worry or panic my love, just breathe deeply in and out of your nose and just think that was I thinking of doing today seeing my friends or family member or just relaxing at home playing some calm gentle music and I would if I was you just get a cup of tea and a biscuit and think about positively and think what am I worried about what do I do if this happens again.... Well I would think and thank god that I'm still alive and look at photos on my phone and think my own parents made me look into the future of a great life what would they think I would do. If possible go for a walk into the air and think about YOUR own self and you then sit on a bench and say thanks bluebiker that you helped me overcome my anxiety and I will never be anxious about this again so thanks. Everyone cares for you on this site and I think it's brilliant you can speak to someone about these problems you may have.
