Sertraline Side Effect

Hello, new to this. Just switched from Citalopram to Sertaline and im experiencing terrible side effects. Im having awful stomach pains and diarrhoea. I can barely eat anything. Just wondering if anybody else has experienced the same?

I have been on sertraline for 3 weeks and the side effects have been debilitating. Shivers, sleepless night, weakness, lack of appetite. I was going to stop but everyone on forums advise to continue so I am. Felt a lot better the past couple of days. And i didn’t want to go through the same thing again by withdrawing. I believe it can take from 4 to 6 weeks for it to be in your system.

In all fairness its only my third day in but I just feel so unwell! Its making my anxiety way worse because physical illness is a huge trigger for me too. Im at a bit of a loss.

The gp prescribed them as I have Ulcerative colitis and I have anxiety because of it. The racing heart and palpitations freak me out but unfortunately it is also a side effect. The first week, I didn’t leave my bed and I couldn’t eat. It does get better but with insight, I don’t know whether I’d have agreed to start them. I am hoping to be my old self again soon.

I started these just over two weeks ago, constant stomach cramps every hour , upset stomach, hot sweats so I started to take them in the afternoon so I slept through the worst of the cramping. My Health Anxiety went through the roof that I had call backs from the dr as I really wasn’t coping

So far this week I’ve had 3 good days I’m on day 18 and the cramping has gone I’m eating again and the upset tummy is getting better. So I’m sticking with it hopefully with you once your use to it you’ll not have the side effects.
