Going out tonight !!

Going out tonight for a friends bday but really nervous about it as before when I felt like this I never went out for months!!! But I feel like I want to go out but then the thoughts come back like why do I want to go out I shouldn’t feel like I wanna go out cause I never last time I was like this so that scares me to 😒 I’m really nervous and obviously not feeling 1000% myself but I wanna do it I wanna enjoy it

caitsxxx1, None of us will ever feel even 100% like ourselves. If we waited for ourselves to feel just great, we may stay in the rest of our lives. We make a decision one way or the other, that in itself helps instead of being indecisive. You have a reason to go out and celebrate your friend's birthday. Throw fear to the wind. Decide what you'll wear, fix your hair and makeup and that in itself will give you a positive lift. Change your thoughts from "I wanna" to "I'm going to". Quite a difference. Nothing is going to stop you. Put on your party hat and SMILE...It's going to be a great night. Let us know about it tomorrow xx

if your anxiety is telling you to stay in, go out! Your brain will only learn that there is nothing to be anxious about by continuously putting yourself in those places that make you feel uncomfortable. Avoidance just reinforces the message that there is something to fear, keeping you stuck . It isn't that you are scared about going out, you are scared of the symptoms of anxiety. Go out, take the anxiety with you. This is the only way to recover.
