Hi everyone I am still suffering with this. When I walk I feel totally off balance basically like I'm drunk all the time. I thought I had vertigo but doc said no. I thought I had a brain tumour so I had an MRI and all normal along with bloods. I hate that I just don't feel real and question my existence. I have read some excellent articles listened to really good pod casts but I can't seem to shift it. It's like my legs are not connected and light headed ness. It's scary and makes me think I'll faint or pass out like even when I am at home I think everything looks weird if that makes sense. This has been going on for ages now and it never ever goes away

That's how I used to feel

I was dealing with this and it was unbearable and I couldn't barely leave the bed, until I read this life changing article and took his advice calmandcourageous.com/anxie...

Yes. Everytine I would go to walk somewhere it was like I was off balance. When I was laying down or sitting I was ok but I couldn't walk. I started to figure out that I was bringing the dizziness on myself. I was so afraid of that anxiety symptom that I was calling it to me. Like telling myself that when I walked I was going to get dizzy and guess what it wiuld happen. I started to accept it for what it is and that it isn't going to kill me and I stopped giving it attention and it went away. I had to fake it to make until it finally started to fade away. The more you try to fight it the worst it will get. Just accept it and don't give it attention.

Hi Zobro, I've been there, feeling like I'm standing in a swaying boat, on a trampoline with each step I took, the ground seems to be sinking under my feet. It's the most unnerving feeling in which anxiety usually wins. From that feeling to negative thoughts leads us to many doctors, many tests which still equal anxiety.

It does go away, it will go away. The ground is now stable under my feet. Where did that feeling go? If on medication that can sometimes feed into that feeling w/o you realizing it. I had talking therapy but how many times can you talk about the same thing over and over unless changes are made within us. That change for me was using meditation, imagery and my pal, deep belly breathing.

I know I must sound like a broken record, but it worked and I wouldn't be myself again if I hadn't believed. A pill isn't the answer, therapy helps greatly but we all have the key inside us to stop this insanity. If you haven't already, please read or listen to Dr. Claire Weekes theory on Acceptance and Anxiety..They go hand in hand and as long as it stays a fight within us, the fear keeps building and the symptoms continue.

There are many great videos on YouTube. Try doing some searching as to what may help calm your thoughts. Remember what we think plays into what we feel. Keep coming back to the forum for support and understanding, it's all important that you don't feel alone or helpless.

This too will pass. x

Zobro,

Have you made any headway with this constant off balance/light headedness? I've had this for over a year now, some days/months are much worse than others, but I always feel like I will faint. I have severe anxiety and I'm on escitalopram for it.. even if I'm not physically anxious, the feeling is always there. Stress makes it worse for weeks.. how do you cope with this?
