Any idea of what causes ear ringing or how to make it stop?

Lots of things can cause it:

Tinnitus is a reported symptom of the following medical conditions but not limited too:

Metabolic Disorders: Hypothyroidism, Hyperthyroidism, Anemia

Autoimmune Disorders: Lyme Disease, Fibromyalgia

Blood Vessel Disorders: High Blood Pressure, Atherosclerosis

Psychiatric Disorders: Depression, Anxiety, Stress

Vestibular Disorders: Ménière's Disease,Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, Otosclerosis

Tumor-Related Disorders (very rare): Acoustic Neuroma, Vestibular Schwannoma, other tumorous growths

Thanks I have at least 3 of those disorders so that explains it. When I went to see a Doc She said she didn't see anything

Mine seems to be related to my sinus problems and possibly my anxiety issues, mine is more like rushing wind rather than ringing though

Interesting. Have you ever had ear problems before anxiety/sinus issues. I never had ringing like this so I'm pinning it on anxiety

I would say that if it interferes with your day to day life than I would ask to maybe see a ENT doctor. I also have it in my right ear and really only notice it when i'm by myself or in a really quiet space.

I've had sinus and ear problems most of my life, from ear infections to abscesses on the eardrum itself when I was younger, and I have had two bad bouts of Labyrinthitis (viral infection of the inner ear, it brings on vertigo and sickness) in the last couple of years, I have noticed since then that the tinnitus has become worse, during the day it is not really noticeable when I am out and about because of background noise etc, but becomes more noticeable when I have a blocked nose or when suffering an anxiety attack.

I have a history of ear infections as a child... also my biological father went deaf in one ear. So far I'm following behind him with everything from acid reflux, anxiety, tumor, ear issues, and the list goes on smh
