Hi sofa23 welcome to our forum.please take a nice deep breath in and hold it few seconds then slowly breath out.now you are in the right place we have all had anxiety and many of us on this site are still having it.BUT you can control your anxiety and get back to how you used to be.anxiety is horrible it causes hundreds of different symptoms .panic attacks, social anxiety. Sleeplessness ,sweating, chest pains you name it most of us have had it.this lump in your throat is quite common I've had it myself and was struggling to eat and swallow even fluids.but I overcame it by realising I was over thinking my swallowing.once I mastered acceptance I found the lump in throat disappear ,I was so worried about this feeling in my throat and thinking I couldn't swallow I thought of it constantly.just adding more fear and anxiety.then I sat down and thought to myself Why does this come and go ? When I'm watching TV whilst having my tea I can swallow OK then it dawned on me ......I was overthinking every swallow i did but whenvi was sat in front of TV taking my mind of it.it did not happen.so I tried not to swallow and guess what the more I tried not to the easier it became as my body's own reflex kicked in and I swallowed without thinking.sorry so long but needed to explain that we over think.
I've had these symptoms as well. Feeling like someone is choking me or lump in my throat, these are symptoms of stress and anxiety. Fast heart beat is also another symptom of anxiety. The good thing is that you're not a lone. Most of us had these symptoms and they can be very worrisome. However they can be mitigated and cured with the right techniques and help. Deep breathing helps and exercise. Try not to think about the symptoms as they tend to make them worse. Just know that theres nothing wrong with you, it's the thoughts in your mind that are causing your body to react. Your mind thinks that there is a danger when there really isn't. Hope this helps.
Well my heart is always beating fast when I awake due to the stress I feel before I fall asleep. Sometimes your heart is suppose to beat fast in the mornings because the adrenaline kicks in and that's what makes you wake up. With my bad anxiety, I contantly have different chest sensations, including pain. Also always feeling as if I am choking. Its all anxiety just have to learn to cope. Its hard for all of us with anxiety to cope.
