I woke up this morning with a pretty bad headache, tried to shrug it off and sleep a bit longer, was too persistent and painful so I went downstairs to go to the bathroom. Suddenly the what if's popped into my head and I did the worst thing possible. I rushed upstairs in seconds to take my blood pressure, from a combination of pain, intense panic, recent exertion, uncontrollable shaking and a possible bad reading. (took it wrong as i was in too much of a rush) and I got a heart-stopping(literally) 196 over 142. As you can imagine this sent me into an instant frenzy and I was convinced death was certain. Well as evident as I am typing this I am alive, it took about half an hour to calm myself down and my blood pressure has gone down to normal. But it is probably the worst panic attack I have had since it actually affected me that badly. For reference, yesterday my blood pressure was 110 over 63.

LightSezor, I have also gotten those life threatening readings at times. Knowing that our thoughts and body are out of control at that time may not help in the moment but very shortly we realize it was a combination of what we were feeling and are "what if" thoughts combined.
It was there for a fleeting moment, did no harm except leave us emotionally exhausted. I'm glad it came back down. Now get the thought out of your mind so it doesn't keep ruminating. It happened, it's gone and life goes on. Take care and Breathe...
