A little about myself.

Hi I'm Ms Dee .I'm a mother of 3 grown children and I have 8 beautiful grandchildren. I've been married for33 years and quite frankly I am tire of my whole family. They drain me of every emotions I have. I have devoted myself to my family and now at 61 I can't tell you what true happiness really is.

Well, you are only 61. There is still time to find happiness, and to enjoy your own things. Plus, I assume you do not have children in your house all the time anymore since your children are grown and moved out, which might make it easier to take time for yourself. Start doing some of your own things, explore your interests. Try new things. If you branch out and do things for yourself a bit more, you will find your happiness go up most likely.

And I'm sure that your devotion goes a long way with them, btw. Having a caring, devoted mother and grandmother is MUCH better than having a dead beat mother and grandmother.

I would suggest taking a class somewhere, or going on a trip to a dream destination. Maybe try learning some new things for fun. Maybe get a new pet. Pets are always fun :) (however that is another being that you have to be devoted to, but still pets are fun lol).

Thank you!💋 My daughter had to move back in because she homeless and she not trying to leave . I want to do something for myself but after so many years of not making friends it's kind of hard for me.I need the strength to make that move to independent.

Ah I see... well I think you will find that strength. Start small and gradually move on to bigger things!

Um.... so you devoted your life to your family and expected happiness from them in return? That isn't how life works, is it?

I think you missed understood my post. I don't expect nothing for the love and time I have giving my family because I love them dearly. However I would love some peace ,and some respect from them. I giving so much of myself and all I want is simple greetings like "good morning ".... "Thank you"....."how are you feeling today" is that to much to ask for. Oh this is a big one! ask to use my car just don't take it. This is what expect from my family.

You deserve respect from your family, being a parent shouldn't mean giving up on your own happiness, it isn't too much to ask at all, I agree with you 100% xxxx

No, it isn't how life actually plays out in some families. There has been a fairy tale, that everyone is supposed to grow up get alone and share each others clothes, and dinner recipes. Didnt happen here.
