Found out my potassium was really low. 😫 Encouragement please..

I got my potassium check after feeling the dizziness for awhile. It was 2.1 the nurse said I should be around a 6

Now I'm on supplements for a week then I get my blood drawn again

I'm scared I'm gonna take too much and something's going to happen to me 😢

Well I don't know if it will build up that quick for you to overdose. I took if for nearly a year, sometime I took it twice a day, and It didn't build up too quick on me. Don't worry about it, it should help you to feel better. Just keep getting your blood checked periodically to ease your fear, don't worry.

Definitely take the potassium and rest assured that it's way worse for it to be low than high.

Low potassium is dangerous, so no worries on taking what the doctor prescribed. My stepmom had hers low too and she's taking the supplement and eating everything with potassium (raisins, black beans, etc.) for about the last month now.

They gave me and iv bag full and two big pills while I was in the hospital last night. And I'll start my supplement tomorrow. Hopefully I start feeling better. Has your step moms potassium come up?

Hi I had my bloods done last week and my potassium is low as well . Dr put me on a supplement as well but won't get checked for 6 months . Why would they checking in a week ?? Takes months for it to start to make a difference .

Hmm im not sure. They said mine was critically low, maybe they want to make sure it's out of that range? Idk I'm going to call my gp today

What did the doc say? How old are you and do you drink or eat anything or workout too hard that made this happen?

The day I had my blood drawn I had worked out in my yard all day long pretty much

I'm 25. Maybe I don't eat enough?

I wish I knew.

I found out mine was was 2.9 and it's supposed to be 3.5 so I was wrong.

But still I'm scared I'm taking too much bc maybe it was just that one day my potassium was too low and I don't need this much

Ugh, my anxiety was good and then I get this news and I'm a mess

I'm scared I'll go into cardiac arrest for having too much potassium

Get a doctor or nurse to give you the truth about potassium in the body. I get crazy about physical symptoms or medicnes etc....did anyone in your family used to freak out over illnesses?
