This is the first time this has ever happened to me. I had a dream last night that I kept losing my breath even while I was just sitting. The weird part was there were times in my dream where I'd be running (for pleasure) or doing another exertion exercise and my breathing would be fine. I'd be talking to someone calmly and then all of a sudden I was losing my breath and then would find it hard to breathe. I actually remember telling myself at one point in the dream to stay calm (i think it was because whoever I was with was calling a doctor or an ambulance). Anyway, totally weird dream and wondered what it was all about. I do take medication for depression and anxiety.

I was losing my breath in my dream and couldn't catch it.
i believe that dreams has meanings , they are a result of our our thoughts in the waking life , can you tell me more about your waking life in order to understand the meaning of your dream ?
My Zoloft has been making me have very strange and vivid dreams too. My panic, some not. I have this one where my legs don't work, and I can't move them. I always think about it in my waking life too, wondering if my legs will stop working
Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. (Freud) Sometimes a weird dream is just a weird dream. Try not to read too much into it.
If you find you are experiencing the same dream or ones with a similar theme, you might try practicing how you want the dream to be different or end. My neuro-psychiatrist advised me to do this when I have nightmares similar in content or theme.
It takes a lot of "practice", but I have some success with it.
I take generic Xanax morning and evening to ease my anxiety.
