Update! I don't know what to think about this appt!

So the psychriatrist decided to take me off SSRI completely and told me to only take amitriptyline!!!!! She said she doesn't want to try multiple medicines at once because then we won't know what is working or not working... but hello doesn't this brain need a Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor!!!!! Now I'm so scared!!!!!!!! Also she said I'm severely lacking l methylfolare and wants me to take that asap! What do you guys think? I'm scared not having a long term SSRI

  • SSRIs can actually cause problems with folate levels in some people and make anxiety and as one of the symptoms of folate deficiency is problems with anxiety and depression this makes the use of SSRIs unhelpful for those people.

    The course of action described by you psychiatrist - looking at one med at a time - seems like a sensible and person based approach.
