Anxiety & Panic after several Heart Attacks..

after having 3 heart attacks over the last 15 years, now 65... I still have anxiety about my future and having more cardiac issues, its on my mind to much, after having the first heart attack, I really gave it my all and seemed to cope very well... now I feel so much more aware of what's going on in my body.. from all my medical tests things seem in order, yet as I age now it seems other medical problems become aware, I want to live my life with concern but not fear... does anything about medications for anxiety help in the long run ?

So sorry to hear what a horrible time you have had to have 3 heart attacks

Glad that you now have been given a good bill of health Can really understand your concerns and I hope your doctors can reassure you

You look amazing for 65 are you sure you have not made a typing error 😉

I can't really advise about medication sorry but for me it's relaxation techniques that keep me well and anxiety free I use the videos on YouTube Michael Sealey he is very good

Wishing you all the very best

Hi 4lucynicky, for someone who has been through 3 heart attacks, Cat33 is right, you do look great. Apparently you deal with stress better than you think. :)

As for medications, they are really short term to bridge that gap until something else is found that works for you. To look forward to each day without fear is difficult when you have anxiety. However, using techniques to keep you calm can help if you work at it. I use meditation and deep breathing first thing in the morning and last thing at night.

I do a 10 minute relaxation video on YouTube midafternoon whether stressed or not. It helps getting your mind and body trained to react to positive reinforcement rather than waiting until you are over the edge with anxiety.

Life is about living each moment to the fullest. I wish you well.
