Yesterday i called my doctors office to see if she might consuder a change to my meds since i seem to be suffering quite a bit presently and feel in crisis. This is a new medical doctor that i have seen only three times. She gave me a psychiatrist referral to review the meds instead but they cant see me for three months!!! That is too long...she responded by saying that she has done all she can with medication and non medication support. I dont believe she did and i am not sure this will be a long term doc for me. Today i felt disappointed.

Get a new doctor!!!! You shouldn't go see anyone who doesn't take your medical issues seriously. And if you see a new doctor you should see if they'll refer you to a different psychiatrist because 3 months is simply too long to let your mental health spiral out of control. It is ok to tell a doctor that they are not the right match for you, you won't be the first to tell them and I'm sure you won't be the last. Good luck and just do what you feel is right.
Thank you for your support and encouragement. I moved here last summer and had been seeing a Physicians assistant and then our insurance changed and she was no longer in our network. I have made an appointment to see her yet this week. She was much more understanding and paying out of pocket will be worth it to feel like i am be cared for.
My dad's therapist told him that the money is worth good mental health. I couldn't agree more. Although, I do have anxiety about my financial situation so it might be counterproductive for me if I had to pay out-of-pocket. Haha! But yes, it is worth it to see someone who you feel comfortable with!
