Drunk feeling/off balance/dropping sensations when awake
I get these too sometimes. Do you take any meds?
Is waking affected?
I take xanax but I have cut back on them and my symptoms flared again
Ashley1489, this is why you feel this way. It is withdrawal from Xanax. Why did you cut back? Did your doctor wean you down or did you do it yourself?
Ive experienced those feelings, especially when I have had a cold or sinus infections. It affects my ears and I feel dizzy, or like I'm dropping down. My daughter's ears (11 years old) give her that same feeling of dizziness. It gets worse when she has a cold and also following the cold or allergies. I give her Claritin. Also, I place a very warm wet facecloth over my eyes nose and sinus areas. I leave it on until it cools then I run more hot water over the cloth, squeeze out the excess water and repeat 4 times. I do this 3 times a day. I find this really helps with sinus pressure.
Many times, fluid builds up in the inner ear and this definitely would cause these feelings. A decongestant can also help. For me though, decongestants give me anxiety, so I stick to natural remedies. All I need is more anxiety, ha!
It would be a good idea to see a ear, nose, throat doctor. Sinuses and ears can throw you off balance and even make you nauseous. I know it feels terrible and it's scarey not knowing what it is. See the doctor and Try not to worry too much about it, you're not alone. I feel much better now and my daughter does too. So don't lose hope, you will be okay! Stay strong! I wish you all the best!
