Iron Tablets are making me feel queezy. I'm sure it's normal but how long will this side effect last?

I've been taking 27 mg of ferrous glucanate twice a day for a week now and they still make me nauseated. However I started taking one hour before bed with a glass of water and that's better

Great! Thanks. I'm wondering if I can change my diet to iron rich foods to substitute the iron pills. I'm not really digging the pills at all lol and it's only been 3 days.

I have never had them affect me. I take B12 sublingual and there is no taste. Am I mistaken or is B12 not the same as iron? I remember years ago I did take iron in a pill form, it made my tongue black. Have you asked at a health food store to see if they could suggest something?

Hi, B12 is a Vitamin and Iron is a Mineral but they're both needed to make up healthy red blood cells. I haven't been to the health food store in a few days, I should ask them. Thank You I didn't even think about it.

so glad I mentioned it....nothing to lose....I do know that the pure iron can :-) affect other bodily functions and you may need to eat fibre.

I'm on iron to raise my ferritin level because it is low and that's why I feel tired, my heart pounds and my hair is falling out. Iron rich foods are the best way but if you are deficient in iron you need supplements to help. I also take liquid chlorophyll to help bind my iron

I've recently started taking fruit and veggie capsules not for iron but I have read that it's helped people with their iron levels.

I never heard of that. It sounds way better than these iron tablets. I'm going to take a trip to the health food store today. Thank You

I also take iron pills and they do make me feel queezy as well. I asked my doctor and he said that it is a normal side effect of Iron pills especially in females.

I don't like the feeling lol but I did start taking them again. I need them for now so I'll do what it takes. I'm just glad that it's just iron pills and nothing more.
