I suffer from health anxiety and my 'thing' at the moment is acid reflux. I have many of the symptoms but have a really bad ache/pain at the front of my throat, near the adams apple.
I'm obsessing about whether it's something worse, maybe a heart attack....I don't know...
Can we get tension in the front of our necks?

That may be caused by something called Barrets Osephougus, so called after a surgeon called Barret discovered the phenomenon in 1957. To have that diagnosed you will have to go and ask your GP to refer you for an endoscopy which consists of a camera being inserted into your throat and then down the oesophagus. That sounds horrendous, I know, but it isn't really. You will be well medicated before the procedure begins and it takes a half hour although when I was there it seemed more like five minutes. The results will be sent to your GP in around two weeks so make an appointment to see them. It is not anything terrifying at all. The taste at the back of your throat is called water brash yet once you have a diagnosis your GP will prescribe some anti-reflux medication which will settle the problem.
Same fam. Shooting stabbing pains in chest nasty taste in mouth bloated all that shit. I have it also. It comes and goes. But worsens if I eat pizza. Yay me right? No more pizza
It sucks! The thing that has really helped me since I posted is lemon water, add fresh slices of lemon to filtered water and leave to infuse before drinking.
You must get it looked at by a doctor and they will sort it out for you.
