Do any of you have certain things that you do to help you to relax or when you are feeling anxious?

I draw, listen to music or go walking.

jimtom, that is impressive. A beautiful drawing. I can see how that can be relaxing. I go on to YouTube and listen to a few Audio Relaxation and Deep Breathing videos. It does help calm my mind and body.

Thanks for sharing the drawing :)

Thanks Agora, It is indeed relaxing and very enjoyable.

What are the videos that you watch do you have a link to them?

:)

Hi jimtom, One of my favorites is QuietMindCafe.com on YouTube. It's meditation, visualization/imagery and deep breathing. It's soothing because of the man's voice. Audio for me works better than just listening to rain, waves etc. My mind seems to tune in better to a calming voice suggesting different relaxation scenes.

I have also at times just typed in YouTube Audio Relaxation/Deep Breathing. So many will come up and I just test a few until I find the soothing voice I need to be calm. I try to use it as a daily afternoon respite.

That sounds nice I think I might give it a go someday..

Thanks a lot Agora.

Hi Jimtom, You are really talented! Did you have a model for that drawing? I find it relaxing to come on the forum, and see what's going on with the members. I also like cleaning. Good to do something active, to burn up that excess adrenaline! Like to read and music always helps. Ruby🌹

Thank you Ruby, no model there.

What music do you listen to for relaxation? ☺

Looking at this forum has helped me loads this week. My anxiety flared up at start of this month but this site has helped me and I only found it on Tuesday. It makes me realise I am not alone and helps me have belief in fact my anxiety symptoms are just that. I also read a good book.

Always here for a chat I am almost there now so much better than I was but I get anxiety IBS hate the feeling of being "trapped" waiting rooms hairdressers etc anywhere I can't easily escape I do loads of self help and on the whole stay upbeat and always positive

How about you ? I find the weight loss forum very uplifting and happy lovely people on there 😊

in reply to Cat33

I'm always up for a chat too.

My ibs and anxiety are nowhere near as bad as they used to be, it's all getting better I am more positive about it all these days.

The weight loss forum is great, full of very nice people with good advice, I haven't much weight to lose tho, just some around my belly now.

I'm very much the same I'm much better than I was and do all the things I want to I find it more of a nuisance now rather than being totally overwhelmed by it like I used to be

I want to lose about a stone and a half ideally I'm pleased with my weight loss so far Our son is getting married in July so thats my incentive

I do the Happiness Challenge everyday on the Weight Loss forum I find that a really nice thing to do

I'm currently waiting for a hip replacement in March and it's helped me get through some very painful days where I could have got very down

Have a good day 😊

in reply to Cat33

You are on the right track then, I am happy to hear that, yes it is more of a nuisance now and also can do everything I want to do. I think if you keep focused on the good things they eventually take over the bad things.

My partner has had both hips replaced and it changed her life, you have that change to look forward to. It will be hard for a bit after the operation but then you will eventually feel amazing.

You have a great day Cat ☺

in reply to Cat33

You feel trapped, in what way?

Oh I just get the old fight or flight thing if I can't escape easily so I have to keep doing the deep breathing etc 😊
