Pulled chest muscle & rotator cuff issue

Hopefully I can get through this without my panic spiking up again. All the muscular pressure feels like it's my heart...even though I know I'm okay it's hard to stay positive when you have left sided chest and arm pain.

Anyone else went through this? Thanks

I get it, how did you do it?

Rotator cuff issue... I'm not sure

But I'm pretty sure I pulled my chest muscle while driving my husbands older truck that doesn't have power steering

🙄 so I have to wear a sling for a week and take steroids & ibuprofen. If that doesn't help I'll be headed to a orthopedic

Its pretty common because the rotator cuffs are small weak muscles.

If it isn't a tare it should be easily treatable, usually after rest its best to get the muscles moving as it helps them repair a lot better and faster.

So don't worry about it to much you will be fighting fit soon enough.

if orthopedics don't find any tears or anything to bad you might get sent to physio to be shown how to stretch those muscles.

I have done it many times and it always turns out just fine.

Thank you! That makes me feel better. I lift weights and to workout..etc but this arm has stopped that. I can't lift my arm but so high😩

Wish I wouldn't have pulled my chest muscle at the same time lol

but you live and learn ☺️

ah! now I see, the 3rd most common injury in weight training is to the rotator cuff, you need to use the weights to exercise them to make them stronger. most people don't know about them or bother with them, you can find exercises online that you can do for them.

Before xmas I pulled my scm and chest muscle so I know what you are going through. I used ibuprofen gel, sometimes heat gel too, and pain killers, I stretched the muscles 2-3 times a day and now I am feeling fine. now I am back at the gym I'm using light weights on them for a few weeks.

pulling two at a time is horrible you are right there lol

:)

Thanks! Yes yoga and stretching definitely help out my chest. Hopefully I'll be back at it soon ☺️☺️

You will be :)

When you pulled your chest muscle.. could you feel like a "hardened"... I guess that's the word lol.... place where it hurt?

in reply to

Yes I could, I pulled muscle in both sides of my chest and could feel a "hardened" place on each side where it hurt. Its just the muscle tightening and you need to do stretches to sort it out ( see you tube) , also ibuprofen gel and painkillers will help.

Don't be worrying about it :O)

Just an FYI if you are taking a steroid such as prednisone it can give you excessive adrenaline so it may make anxiety symptoms appear or make them worse. This happened to me last year but it all went away as soon as I stopped them.

Thanks. Yeah They've actually gave me a steroid shot before and that happened. The steroid shot didn't help so I'm probably not gonna take the prednisone this time!

I've never really gave it time to heal.. so I'm probably gonna wear this sling for a week & see how I feel
