Perimenopause & Anxiety

I will be 49 in less than a month and I know I'm having perimenopause stuff (it's been 2 months since a period), and my anxiety is through the roof! Anyone where I am? How do you cope? I'm leery of HRT but as time goes on I'm more open to ideas.

Feel the same doc said hrt or antidepressants!!! I'm confused. I want something natural

Hello

I have a few years on you and been going through the menopause for years , some how my ovaries just don't want to give up , unlike everything else :-/

I have personally found it a very trying time and still am and in lots of ways it has changed me which I hope will change back again and I cannot take HRT because of other Health problems but if I could by now I certainly would be taking it because it has to be better than how I feel now

I have a friend who is a bit younger than me and I had been going through the menopause a couple of years when she started , well as soon as she did she said now I understand how you have been feeling and sorry for not have more compassion , but then went on to say she could not cope feeling this way and because she could she was going to get on HRT and she did and she has never looked back , no bother with it at all , she feels so much better

You could go in a Herbal shop or Chemist and try something natural , may work ? I have tried everything natural going but for me and I can only share my experience it has never worked or made a difference except to my purse !

But we are all different and just because that is what I found does not mean it would be totally the opposite for you , but one thing I would say if you are suffering and you can take HRT and you manage on it ok then don't try and do it with out making yourself miserable

Hope you make the right choice for you :-)

Take Care x

What do you do to cope then? 😌

in reply to NM13

If I am honest I am just grinning and bearing it hoping that it won't be to much longer !

I do get down with it all but I think mine has gone on that long as much as I hate it I have no other choice but accepting it , but if I could take medication I seriously would do because there is no point putting myself through what feels like hell some days if there was something I could take

I would seriously consider HRT or if Doctor says Antidepressants would help then maybe those , you could only but try them , you would not be any worse than you feel now by giving them a go :-) x

You should be proud of yourself x

I have to be honest I am not keen on meds but try and eat as healthy as you can , if you can get some exercise all helps and maybe try something natural which they would advise you in any Chemist on

Been a woman is not that easy :-) x

I just turned 50 and I’m perimenopause I haven’t had a period in four months and my anxiety has been through the roof for six years I just had a DNA test for any depressants to see which one works so that should be back soon You’re not alone
