Anxiety took over my mind during dinner.

So we had dinner out and I guess you can say I was uncomfortable before getting there. It was possibly the lighting or even how we were sitting. But it robbed me from having a good time and finishing my dinner. I felt alone, out of place, you name it I felt it. Even my med didn't help me ease myself. What's more frustrating is that I hate when I'm quite. When I'm not myself and how people can notice. I've had a bad episode recently to the point where I thought I needed to go the hospital. I'd say that places second. It really was scary. Until this day, everything feels brand new. I don't know why. I'm just sick of it. My chest hurts from the scratching I do. The time cut short when I spend time with people. Everything.

Hi mz_Rachel, it could have very well been the lighting. Even if you can't see it, any flickering of the lights can cause our brain to interpret as danger. As for sitting, I usually sit with my back against a wall which seems to help some, or if in a booth, then I go in first so I'm not on the outside of the booth. When you are so overly anxious before you even go out, it's pretty hard for the med to work since you are fighting it all the way. I bet the medicine starting working by the time you got home and you started settling down again. It is more than frustrating to say the least. Someday you won't have this problem any more. Thank you for replying agora. It means a lot... everything you said was spot on. Everything. I just hate being the odd man out. And it's not like the people who I was with don't know I suffer from it. So why was I feeling weird?

Hi Mz_Rachel. I use to take a valium before I leave the house, and talk to myself. It is hard dealing with this situation.
