Hi all,

Hi my names Den and im.64 im still working in childcare whuch i love but i'm suffering really bad. I ache all the time like I have flue. Even the smallest of jobs seems like climbing up a mountain. Just been wrapping a few christmas presents and now all my muscles in my arms shoulders and my back ache. Doctor still insists it's anxiety but I can't see how all these things can be. Iv had a heart scan, blood tests for thyroid and all the usual and a chest xray. Iv tried mindfulness and CBT which did help for a while. Dr put me on amytrptiline which helped for a while but then made me feel worse. I'm at my white end.

Hi Den have you had your vitamin B12 and Vitamin D levels checked? I am deficient in both and muscle aces / fatigue are included in the symptoms

I assume so in the blood tests. I was put on vitamin D last year maybe I need it again. I'm convinced I have fibromyalgia but Dr doesn't agree.

As far as I know B12 isn't done as routine. Worth exploring Id say

Hi Den64, It sounds like Fibromyalgia. I have both anxiety as well as Fibro and that's exactly how the symptoms started. It's like you have been run over by a Mack truck, the tightness in the muscles is so bad that anything you do just makes the muscles tighter. Wrapping presents, sweeping, stirring a cookie or cake batter etc can all give you this feeling with Fibro. A Rheumatologist will be able to check for Fibro (not by any blood test) but by pressing and finding trigger points in your body. Once the diagnose is made he will tell you how to live with a chronic pain condition. Anxiety and fibro go hand in hand with many patients. Hope this might clear up your concerns. Take care.

Hi Den

Do you feel you suffer with anxiety ?

Yes sometimes anxiety can make all the muscles tense which cause pain but if we don't feel have anxiety then I don't think that is enough to say it is the cause

Have you heard of fibromyalgia some of your symptoms sound familiar even though none of us our Doctors but I will pop the link on to the Community on here and you can have a look if you relate and maybe post as well on there

I hope you get to the bottom of what is really causing all this :-)
