Hi latic, It's an older drug, that's probably why you don't see Amitriptyline mentioned.

I was on it many years ago for my Fibromyalgia pain but it wasn't the right med for me.

I'm glad that it is working for you. We are all different and what works for one might not

for another. And that's okay. Takes trial and error to get to the proper med and dose.

Continued success x

I have been taking it for 9 months for PHN (shingles pain) It did help but even more for so with sleep I am weaning myself off, although not supposed to be addictive I find I am becoming dependent

Oh foxglove, I didn't think it was used for anxiety. It's more for helping with pain and now I can understand. I don't know about it being addictive. I was only on it 2 weeks. Your doctor should be able to give you a way to wean off slowly if you feel dependent. Wish you luck. Everything just takes time. I came off Xanax and Ativan a slow wean and now off completely. It will happen but it should be with your doctor overseeing it. xx

Thanks for caring I was only on a low dose and am more or less off it now and fell fine!! I maybe exaggerated the addictive angle (don't think it applies to the low dose I was on) - just me being a "worry wart" as usual. It is not used for anxiety now as there are more effective drugs. I just liked the "sleepy effect" but a drowsy type anti- histamine works almost as well
