Anxiety thru the roof

I'm transitioning from Paxil to lexipro. I've taken Paxil for 15 years and started having attacks again. Dr. Changed my medication. Having such a hard time with it. When will I get some relief. On day 12 of lexipro

Hi Catherined, I have been switched around to different benzos after having been on Xanax for 30 years. The other benzos never did give the same feeling as Xanax. However, I'm not sure if it would be the same effect for SSRIs. I have been switched from one to another but only after having tried them for a few weeks. I currently have been on Lexapro for 6 years. It took some trial and error before coming upon a drug that worked for me. I would say 12 days is not enough time. Usually it is 4-6 weeks for full efficacy. Check with your doctor and let him know your concerns. He will find the right me, the right dose. I started at 10mg of Lexapro and was upped to 15mg a day and stayed at that dosage. Each medicine should be tailor made for each individual. I hope you get some relief very soon. Take care. x

Thanks for making me feel a little better about the time it takes for lexipro to get in my system..maybe now I can start to relax knowing it will work. God bless you

Catherined, I agree that you should test pharmaceuticals, dosages, and combinations for at least a month.
