Just home from the ER... Any help please.. :(

So, sudden one sided facial numbness, along with tingling in right hand and foot sent me straight to the ER tonight. "Congratulations, your anxiety has upgraded to full blown panic attacks" was my diagnosis! Seriously, I was eating supper when I noticed my lip was numb on one side.. So, my belly did a flip, I had a heart palpitation, and then I got the adrenaline rush of heat, then got sick and lid down to die... Decided I must be having a stroke because surely panic attacks would not cause one sided numbness.. But yes, apparently they do. I am just wondering if ANYONE else has ever experienced anything like this with your anxiety/panic? I am in a bit of a mess at the moment.. Any "me toos" would be helpful.

AnxiousAmy, I'm glad you are okay. (at least physically) I know the emotional upheaval will take a little bit to feel better, but that's one thing we can help you with. Feel better soon. x

Yes what you feel is very normal i also have full blown anxiety panic attack disorder there is nothing you can do about it but just to except it and go on with your day if you keep thinking and stressing over it it will not slow down it gets very intense if you just sit and think about it all you will do is keep scaring your self so the best thing to do is just keep telling your self its nomal, keep your self busy during the day to keep your mind off of the anxiety.. talk to people just do anything to keep your self and your mind busy.. i make my self stay out all day and when i finly get home i take a shower, eat and try to relax theni drink some hot camomile tea with lemon, take either Tylenol pm or benadryl to help me relax and get sleep.. i had alot of things happen to me my whole life that caused my anxiety like being in a very abusive relationship for 12 year,my fiance dies in my arm from a drug over dose last October ,and i had a mager jaw surgery just two weeks ago im trying to not let so much get to me but its hard my anxiety panic attacks start when my dude goes to work at 5:30am i hate being alone but he is helping me get through my panic attacks, except them because its all mind over matter i control them.. i over think everything so now i try not to think so much and let thing bother me as much..

Couple days ago I was watching tv and I started shaking out of nowhere uncontrollably with my son in his room. I couldn't even stand I was shaking so bad so I yelled to him to play playstation while I went outside. luckily he didn't see me crawling to the door. I thought I was having seizure but no when the ambulance came I learned my panic attacks had come back. Zoloft really helped me before and its working now on day 5 feeling a little better. All I can say is I have had it all the shakes, the paralysis, racing heart, soaked feet and hands. I still go to the er b/c its hard to believe its all panic. Researching and ssri's helped me better too. good luck

Yes, and first off, I would like to say that I have questions about your feelings of faintness, but I can't message you on here for some odd reason.

But back to your concern, I get tongue and lip numbness, I remember getting this before I had anxiety and usually if I just press my lips together, it goes away - though not always. I've been getting random buzzings on different areas of my body too and it's almost like a pager or a cell phone, because it's like, buzz buzz buzz. That goes on for days for me.

I've had anxiety for 3 years now and I don't know why I got it the first time, life was GREAT, but the hospital kept me for a couple weeks and I was just praying to see my 25th birthday - I literally thought I was dying. Now, I've got all these irrational health fears and I pretty regularly feel like I'm going to faint. I've beaten this before and was good for a year, but the last five months have been full blown. How do you cope with it? Is passing out your biggest fear?

Oh! And I almost forgot, a lot of times when we're in this constant fight or flight mode, our digestive system all but completely shuts down. This leaves us malnourished and that tingling you feel can easily be a vitamin deficiency. All my blood work comes back fine, but that just takes a look at your extracellular, have a hair test done and that will look at your intracellular and that will tell a whole different story.
