Feeling out of breath

I have been feeling out of breath since yesterday when I went rollerblading.. I woke up in the middle of the night feeling like I cannot breathe. Ive had a sore throat and hoarse voice for nearly 2 weeks. Could i just be experiencing anxiety from.not feeling so well?

Hi Katie,

I recognise these feelings you have. Just lately I have had trouble with my breathing, I feel that I cannot get enough air into my lungs. I have been given a ventolin pump for when I am out and about and apparently that opens the airwaves. I also have a sore throat and a burning sensation over my tongue and an on and off ear ache. At first it was thought to be oral thrush but after visiting the ear, nose and throat clinic my diagnosis came back as 'normal'. Not knowing is making me worse and my mind plays games with me and I think the worse. I have had these feelings for over a year now. I have been told that the anxiety itself can cause all these symptoms.

I was referred to a psychotherapist and that helped but after the course finished the symptoms all came back again. I am really desperate to get rid of this anxiety and to be able to lead a normal life.
