It's okay don't worry nothing will happen to you, it's normal to be worried but it's just anxiety you know and I'm sorry for your lost and may God bless you

Hi Karen, sadly, it's called health anxiety and I understand how you feel completely. Try to find an understanding doctor and ask them to help you through with reassurance. Seeing a couselor may also help. It's a long road, but got to start somewhere. I wish you well.

Hi Karen, I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I cannot imagine what you have been through xxx

I am a real believer that we shouldn't have to just simply manage with anxiety and we should treat the route cause to help us eliminate the residual condition being the anxiety we feel now. In your case it would be grief. We are always encouraged to carry on regardless and "get back to normal" rather than taking time to process what has happened to us, why can't we sit in a dark room and cry, why can't we throw a tantrum, why can't we hate the world for a little while? I think a good place to start would be to seek counselling to help you fully come to terms with loosing your partner which has evidently had a lasting effect. Once you have found a way to cope with that you can then tackle the anxiety.

When we suffer we are always looking for answers to the cause of that suffering, we naturally divert to a serious health complaint because how is it possible that my mind could make my body feel this way? The social stigma we have been conditioned with and the lack of public information and debate on mental health means we don't truly understand the power of our minds over our bodies.

It's important to note that anxious feelings are not abnormal at all, just the timing can be a bit skewed, we need those feelings to keep us safe, we just don't need those feelings all the time, our bodies have become confused because of our worry, our view that everything is a threat to us rather than being able to sort the real threats from the perceived ones. Because we think this way our bodies follow with a chemical response, the intrusive thoughts sneak in and take over without us noticing, we need to be mindful and focus on carefully assessing those thoughts and challenging them.

You are not broken, you are not abnormal and you can absolutely get past this xxx
