Hi I'm new here and just wanted to see if I'm not alone on this. For the past year now and feels like I'm getting worse I've been having really bad headaches lately sometimes different and sometimes the same everyday. Been to the er literally 24 time this past year and they can't seem to find nothing wrong. I wake up with a headache and go to sleep with one. It's s pressure and pain feeling lately in the back of my head and it feels like it's going to explode. When it's like that I get really nauseous and feel like I'm going to pass out. My anxiety doesn't help because I always think that something is really wrong because nothing seems to be helping me. I take 7.5 norco 2 times a day which barley does anything to me and Xanax 3 times a day .50 tablets. I used to take Percocet but my doctor stopped prescribing me those and my last visit she basically said I have to wait to see a Nero. My appt isn't for another month in a half and I basically have to suffer like this and just want my life back. I have a 2 year old daughter who always sees me crying in pain and it hurts me the most to watch her see me like this.i can't even take naps anymore like I used to because I do have chest pain as well Please anyone with any advise will be much appreciated. Thank you. By the way I'm 25 years old

Hi Bonniee0423, I'm sorry you continue to suffer from daily pressure headaches. Until you do get to the neuro, I will tell you from experience that I at one time suffered daily muscle contraction/tension headaches. The anxiety I dealt with produced the tension headaches. I too, was put on Xanax at the time as well as a pain reliever when the pain became a 10plus. I'm glad your doctor chose to get you off Percocet since they are highly addicting. As for taking Norco or any over the counter pain reliever, it stops working after a while and you develop what is known as "rebound headaches". Learned that from the neuro. The more we take pain relievers the more persistent the headache pain becomes. What was used in place of pills was physical therapy for a while to stretch those tighten muscles in the back of the head and neck as well as using heat. I was also recommended to use a pain relief patch that was place on the upper part of my neck for 12 hour relief. As my body got use to not reaching for meds as well as doing some relaxation techniques, my pain level dropped immensely. Now, should I get an occasional tension headache, just 1 (325mg) Tylenol does the trick. It's amazing how pills meant to relieve pain after a while actually perpetuate the headache. Wish you well with your Neuro appointment. Keep us posted. x
