Has anyone had piles and you see bright red blood on your poo. Well paranoid

If you have blood in your stool no katter what the case is you need to go see a Dr. Asap dont want to scare you but thats very serious.

Maybe just a pile that has burst but as finding strength has said you are better getting checked out. Hope all ok.

The NHS guideline is if you have continued bleeding for a few days then get it checked. A one-off bleed is most likely piles and as long as it doesn't happen again don't worry - particularly if you're under 50 years of age.

Bright blood in poo means you're bleeding on the way out. So it usually isn't dangerous. It's just piles. Dark, black looking blood means you're internally bleeding somewhere. I would still go get it checked out though, just for your own comfort.

Thank you. Yeah it was only a one off. Must be a pile. Only happens like twice a year if that
