Constant dizziness. Hard to cope.

I feel dizzy constantly. I'm finding it very hard to cope. I have children, so feel very guilty, I feel they deserve better than me. I uset to be a brilliant mum.

I feel like I am moving when I'm not or feel things are moving round me when there not.

I have head and neck pains and blurred vision.

This all brings on heart palpitations, breathlessness, arm and leg weakness.

I am losing my life, I'm losing everything. I wish I was better. I want my life back for mine and my children's sakes x

Hi Need Hope,

I'm sorry you are going through this.... I read one of your previous posts to see if I could get a bit more info and you had said 'no dr wants to help me, just give me pills'.... Well...hmmmm...I don't know what your situation is with being able to see another dr maybe?

However, it sounds to me like you really and truly need to talk with a therapist/counselor. I can understand hesitancy about 'taking pills'... but maybe this would be something you could talk with a therapist about... Sometimes you do NOT have to be on them long term...also... I don't know what your situation is, but maybe you could visit a dr of natural medicine/alternative medicine...

Everything that you speak of points to your Anxiety being out of control.... and I know you WANT to recover.... You might even consider going back to the dr and tell him you are willing to 'give the pills a try' (not Mirtazapine -- Remeron) ... and you might find that they will help you... Best wishes to you... please give people a chance to help you...sometimes our fears block us from allowing that)

Hi I just feel like I'm getting worse. I'm on no medication right now. I'm letting my children down but its not my fault. The dizziness just keeps coming. Then my anxiety gets bad. I've seen a Chinese Dr had acupuncture, didn't help.

My concentration is bad now. My memory is bad.

I honestly feel like I'm on my way out.

I've seen around 11 different doctors x

May I suggest you take a look at neurosymptoms.org.uk it is a very helpful website which can explain a lot of what we are going through. I was previously discussed with anxiety but then doctors admitted not all my symptoms could be put down to anxiety and I was then diagnosed with functional neurological disorder, it can be stress related or come on for no reason. I'm not a doctor so please talk to your own doctor about this but like you I have children and my symptoms are just like yours and I feel guilty every day that I can't be the mum that I used to be but children are resilient and just having you there each day is what they need. My children occasionally ask why I can't do the things I used to do and it upset me but now I just answer truthfully that mummy is still trying to get better and one day I will be able to run around again and take them places they want to go. I am lucky that I have family who can support me with the children. Have you got anyone to turn to for support?

Anxiety can bring on all of those symptoms you mentioned...but it is always a good idea to get checked and make sure there isn't something else going on. I am dizzy pretty much most of the day and also have pressure/tension headaches. My neck muscles and upper back muscles are tight and that causes the dizziness and head pressure i deal with. Anxiety makes our muscles tense up..even though most times we do not realize it. Anxiety affects us even when we sleep. It can make us clench or grind our teeth for instance....that can also cause dizziness and tension in the neck muscles. The thing about anxiety is that it will make all of your symptoms seem much worse because it makes us obsess about them....so the more attention you give a symptom the more severe it will seem to you....this in turn will make you worry more about it making things seem harder to deal with. If indeed it is anxiety that is causing you these issues then getting help from a psychiatrist is the best thing i can advise. I'm happy to see you have an appointment soon. As for medicine...it can be a real help in dealing with this disorder. This disorder is not something easy to deal with on your own...and sometimes taking meds can be a real benefit for taking control of anxiety. Like someone posted before me...meds dont have to be long term. They can be that crutch you need when taking your first steps on that treatment path. Something you should keep in mind about meds though...not all meds work the same for everyone so you may have to try some out before you find the one that works best for you. This can sometimes be frustrating and may make you feel like giving up but i would advise you to be patient and work with your psychiatrist until you get the right match. It will be well worth the effort. good luck and hope you feel better soon. :)

These things can all be a sign of vestibular migraine ( migraine associated vertigo ) if you are feeling spinning sensations or if the ground is moving that is true vertigo and not just light headed dizziness caused by anxiety. Especially as you have head and neck pains too, which can be migraine. Perhaps you can be referred to ENT or a migraine specialist? Mine was controlled for many years by betahistine (serc) and then amitriptyline on top as a preventative. IMHO you don't need a psychiatrist ! Good luck and love. I understand exactly how you feel , I had all this going on when my girls were young.
