All new meds..

So my psychiatrist switched all of my meds and I feel awful and weird and out of it. I know they wouldn't prescribe anything that could hurt me but I'm still worried because I just feel so groggy and sick. I usually don't last past the first three days on medication before I call the psychiatrist and tell them the side-effects are too bad and that I need to be taken off of them because I feel like I'm going crazy. But I really want to stick with it this time to see if it will actually help. I do feel crazy though. /: Idk, how do you guys get through the first week or so on new medications?

I haven't tried any meds. I was too fearful of dependency. Is it hard to go without them? If you miss a dose or something?

It depends on the med but usually yes. that's the big downside of taking medication for your anxiety is your brain/body becomes dependent on them and then if you miss a dose or two you start going through withdrawals. And it SUCKS. But if wean off of them or just don't miss any doses usually you'll feel fine.

I tend to tell myself a lot that it's all for a good cause and things are gonna get better. Sometimes they don't and a particular med isn't right for you but sometimes all it needs is a bit of time to get into your system and for you to adjust. Hope they stop making you feel crap soon x

Have you been given something like Valium to help you get through the side effects?
