Hi,

I want to order medicines from iherb which is based in the USA. Last time I ordered something (Pharma Gabba for anxiety) it cost me an extra £16.00 as well as shipping costs......Does anyone know how tax duty works in Britain and can tell me what the cheapest way is to order something from iherb??

Kind regards

Hello

I never order medications of the internet I am always a bit cautious about this kind of thing so I really do not know but usually if you are ordering anything from another Country it will tell you as you go through the check out what the shipping and tax duties will be

Take Care x

I regularily buy cosmetics and medication etc from the USA and can tell you a little about what costs to expect to pay. It basically all depends on which international carrier that the website uses to transport what you buy to the UK and then to your home.

As a general rule some websites will tell you during checkout what costs there are to pay. Expect to pay the shipping costs (like the UK postal costs) and customs costs once your order has arrived in this country. Some websites only tell you the shipping costs at checkout and the first that you hear of any other costs is when you receive an email or text from the carriers that for them to deliver your order you will need to pay UK customs charges before the carrier can or will deliver your order.

As i have said it depends on which carrier is used by the website that you have placed an order with. If the chosen carrier is DHL then their costs and customs charges will all be paid for during checkout. However if yhe carrier chosen is UPS then expect to pay them the customs charges before they will deliver your order.

I hope you understand what i have written above. The whole system of charges is a bit complicated but once you understand then you know who needs paying and when it needs paying.
