Jelly Legs: What causes legs to feel so weak... - Anxiety Support
Jelly Legs
Hi. There are many many possible physical reasons for you having this leg weakness, e.g diabetes, jaundice, lupus and many more. However, as you have no symptoms of those things it is more likely to be a combination of your anxiety and a general physical tiredness or weakness related to the anxiety. When we have anxiety disorder we often get rushes of adrenaline to various parts of our body like the heart or other major organs, leaving the poor old extremities to fend for themselves. This might account for then 'jelly legs' you speak of. Another possibility is that the weakness is nerve related- the lower back is infamous for causing this type of nerve problem.
If it is really bad for you then ask for advice from your doctor - if nothing physical is found then you know it is anxiety related. I hope you feel better soon.

Thank you Karl, I think it is my anxiety because when I feel more relaxed they are not so bad. Have bought an. Exercise bike so when cant get out use that but can only manage few minutes so far. My husband has Parkinson's and is determined to keep mobile as long as possible so we encourage one anothe. It's the tiredness apart from churning tummy etc that upsets me most. But we have one another and good friends so have to count our blessings.
