Does anyone feel like their anxiety symptoms get worse when they are really cold? Also, as soon as my symptoms hit I feel like death is around the corner or anything I see eg ambulance I start to relate it with how I feel, thinking its a sign of death.
Does anyone else feel this way? I need quick responses. Thank you and Happy New Year xxxx

Hello. Yes is the answer. One of the signs that a panic attack is coming is feeling cold. There is a physical reason for this. The body knows that an attack is imminent and therefore goes into 'flight or fight' mode. All the blood is diverted to the most essential organs as adrenalin begins to flood the body - which leaves the extremities like hands and feet colder than normal. It may be that there are other reasons for feeling cold of course - like how warm your house is. But just to reassure you - cold and anxiety are intertwined - it is one of the many possible symptoms. I myself am having some difficulty with thoughts of death at the moment - hence the reason I am on here trying to focus on something else. So I do understand the fear it brings. Maybe you need to get a blanket or something to warm you up a bit, and try to relax with some breathing exercises. I hope I have been of some help.
