Can anxiety cause heart problems

Hi has anyone ever had heart problems with anxiety it scares me

Anxiety can cause your heart to race , skip beats and things like that but not harmful

Is there a reason you are afraid , do you have a fear of having a heart attack , have you spoken to your Doctor and let them reassure you that your heart is fine ? Sorry a few questions there

I have not personally heard of anyone that has had a heart attack solely due to anxiety so try and cast the thought out as anxiety loves to keep a hold of us & usually it manages to do so when it knows we have a fear like you do over your heart so let it know you are not going to worry and the fear and anxiety will lessen as you do

I have told the doctors I just feel as if they fob me off I have bad anxiety I know but have had really bad chest pain I always have it and as if my chest is heavy 24/7 it's horrible and dizziness sickness and as if my throat closes up and I have had test done 24 hour blood pressure 24 hour heart machine they just said my pulse is fast at times and they give me propranolol to take but k hate tablets and really don't like taking them it's horrible

All the symptoms you have can be due to anxiety , I know it seems hard to believe as they mimic more serious things but be reassured that the tests have all come back fine , you pulse been a little fast at times again could be because you are feeling anxious and it picked up that so if there was anything else it would have picked that up to

But you do need some support with your anxiety , is there one Doctor that maybe better than another in your surgery that you could go and see , remember they get paid to see us and just like if we were having a meal and had ordered steak but they brought us a burger we would not let them get away with it and we don't have to let Doctors fob us of even though it is hard to stay strong while you are sat there but it is your right to ask them if this is not your heart then what can they do other than offer meds as you don't suit or like them , some counselling may be helpful maybe ? they could organize that for you

Keep talking and if you have friends or family that you can confide in let them know you need their support x

I've wondered too if anxiety can cause heart problems or do heart problems cause anxiety. I had never thought about my heart until I was diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse. The anxiety came on full force. I was told that the MVP causes anxiety. Then years down the road, I developed Atrial Fib and was told that my anxiety possibly caused the A-Fib. So I now live with daily anxiety....
