Hi all, I'm currently on sertraline 50mg dose and would like to come off it. I'm trying to get a doctors appointment to talk to them about it but in the meantime could anyone tell me roughly how long it takes to come.off it? I'm hoping I can be off it before I go on holiday.

It all depends on how the medication is cut. Also how long you have been on them and if the body now needs the drug.
Your GP will advise you the best way forward for you. Are you wanting to try other medications or is it You who wants to give it a try ??

I was on it for 2 months and just stopped it because it made me feel sluggish all day and havd head pressure...once i stopped I was dizzy and off balanced for 2 weeks... It was horrible.... Make sure you are careful as the withdrawal is not pleasant
Thanks both. I was put on it about 4 months ago but in all honesty I don't think I needed it. My doctor said I had health anxiety and although I was stressed over my health I had serious lower back and pelvic pain for over a year and also almost continuous periods. I have now been diagnosed with endometriosis. I know I have a bit of anxiety over my health but to be honest I just needed someone to take me seriously and finally find out what was wrong. I feel in a really good place now and with the side effects I get from the sertraline I'd rather come off it and see if I can deal with it without the meds. I now have an appointment on Friday so I'll speak to them but hopefully I can get off it before mychols and have one less thing to worry about when I'm away! Xx
