Obsessed with cutting arm and belly hair

Hi,

I have light blonde hair on my arms and belly but recently I have been obsessed cutting the hair (more focused on the arm hair than the belly hair) and I have no idea why, all I know is that it is a really annoying habit to have.

This has only started in the last 6 months or so and what kicked it off was being bored at work, now I put off work to cut my arm hair and there are times when the scissors scrape the arm or nick my belly that make me bleed which makes it look as if Im self harming which is something I wold never dream of doing.

I don't want to shave my arms as I don't was coarse black hair and I have thought about getting cream that some how keeps the hair short.

I did try ignoring it but the arm hair grew so long that it was horrible.

I know people wont care about my arm hair but I do.

what can I do.

I know shaving can make hair grow back twice as thick and darker but cutting it can also have a similar effect

It sounds like you have some ocd maybe here as with ocd we can focus on one thing or several and get obsessed with it and I would go & talk to your Doctor about this as i obviously is getting to you
