Seems it's always one scary symptom after another. How much longer until your body finally says enough and you feel back to your old self?? This new one is hard to explain but the best I can do is say my eyes feel tired and slow, like when you first wake up and they're kind of blurry and not fully awake. They can see but it's not really registering in my brain if that makes sense, although nothing bad has happened from it. They just feel tired even though I don't. Anyone else know what I am talking about? Any tips on making it better? I tried wearing my glasses and changing my contacts but it's still there.

Anxiety can cause all kinds of visional symptoms, everything from light sensitivity to blurry/ grainy vision, it is very scary but completly harmless

Thanks. I was prescribed Xanax to take the edge off but I don't know what else to do to just accept its all anxiety? I've been having a hard time falling asleep because my heart just starts racing and I can't get myself to relax. Like I said it's getting incredibly frustrating and annoying.

I have similar problems, only what is keeping me awake is head pressure, but it has gotten a lot better, when your anxiety eases so does the symptoms, the Visual symptoms depending on how severe they are, starts to gradually decrease when you are not anxious and accept the symptoms, my vision symptoms came after three years of obsessive health anxiet, and mine were severe but after accepting it it has started to slowly diminish.

How do you accept it though? Lol I know that sounds like a silly question but everytime I feel some crazy new symptom I tell myself it's just anxiety, it can't hurt me. But obviously my body's not buying it. I'm not sure what other approach to take.

I know as a health anxiety sufferer i constantly doubt myself, it is very tough, do you notice if you suffer from the head pressure, chest tightness and heavy heartbeats etc. That if you keep yourself occupied whether it is being social doing housework or something similar you actually dont have it? If you would be physically sick the symptoms would happen either way occupied or not. Anxiety is an attention oriented problem, we constantly monitor ourself and we interpret the feelings with fear or worry which in the long run wreaks havoc on our brains and nervous systems due to constant release of stress chemicals which causes the brain fog and visional problems. Sorry for the essay but i hope it helps

You're absolutely right. And I try to keep myself occupied but then when it comes to finally relaxing I start overthinking and I don't know how to keep that mindset that I'm ok lol ugh!!!

Or worse when I'm feeling ok and tell myself wow I haven't thought about my anxiety in like an hour! Then I jinx myself and it slowly crawls back in my head lol that's the worst

Yea i have the same problem sometimes i have noticed that my vision is normal but when i notice it is the bluriness and foggy vision comes back along with the head pressure, well i think the best way to combat anxiety are lifestyle changes, like diet, exercise and meditation along with keeping up a busy schedule i tried to think myself out of it for years but still the eternal list of what ifs and other doubting thoughts take hold eventually i have started to get better with a nonchalant attitude, it is hard but when you dont care about the symptoms they start to subside

It is a very hard thing to do but very possible, when you beat fear you beat the anxiety, start doing things you find uncomfortable even if it feels like your going to die,if you excuse my language a i dont give a fuck attitude is key, change wont happen overnight and there will be setbacks but eventually it will subside.

Well I'm actually getting blood work done today and the waiting room is absolutely packed and there's a 45 min wait so if that isn't a step in the right direction then I don't know what is. But you're right, I'm trying to have that fuck it attitude also. To the point where whatever happens happens and I have to remember I don't have control over a lot of things. It was working for a bit too until the new symptoms set in so I just have to overcome this.

You will, it is good to take some tests just to be sure and remember that even though you dont constantly think about your anxiety it is still stuck in your subconsious which causes new symptoms to arise and that takes time to get under control, as i said it is difficult but very possible

And my final tip would be to stop seeking constant reassurance even though it helps temporarily it still makes you hold on to the problem.

Thanks. That's good advice too. It's definitely an internal struggle, even though we try so hard to look for outside support and anyone willing to listen it all comes down to us proving ourselves wrong.

There is nothing wrong with support so long as it doesnt cause doubt in you, i tried to find people with exactly the same symptoms even though i found many i still thought my case was different and ill never get better etc. It is anxious thinking like that that feeds anxiety.

I have been in the deepest pit anxiety can possibly give to a person and have come out several times, it is easy to relapse but it is very possible to come out from it.

Kudos to you though. I know we just have to accept we will probably always be anxious people but do you think there will ever come a time when it will just go away? The hardcore anxiety I mean. I've always had anxiety and dealt with panic attacks since I was 6 but this is be first time I've ever really been this anxious.

Justsomeguy profile image
Justsomeguy

Yes! It is very possible to get rid of the hardcore anxiety symptoms, the anxiety itself will lift its head always but it is possible to keep it at a managable level

Ok that's good to hear. So all the energy I use on freaking out I will now try to focus on optimism instead lol happy thoughts

Thats a good attitude also try to keep busy , stay healthy and if you feel really anxious try meditation, there are plenty of guided meditations on youtube that works quite well

Sorry to bug you but I just had the worst experience right now. It's super hot where I live at the moment so I'm sure the heat didn't help but I had a panic attack while I was sleeping I think. I woke up scared with a headache and drenched in sweat. Ugh I'm trying to calm myself down right now. I've been doing so well these last 3 days and I'm trying not to let this get me down but I've just never had an attack that's made me wake up like that.

It is very common with anxiety, ive had them several times but havent in several months, its no wonder that if you are stressed and anxious that you are so also in your sleep. Keep calm and know that it is very common with anxiety and panic

I know exactly what you are going thru.... I feel for you... the bad news is you have to deal with it. The good news is the more it hits you, stronger you get. I have a loving family, but they don't know what I go thru, and it's very frustrating. But I know what you're going thru. Just keep eating healthy and listen to music or whatever makes you relax. Its like savings account . You gotta relax as much as you can. Anxiety is like water hose that could not bear the pressure anymore, and got torn up with leaking water. It takes much time to patch it up. Keep the faith and try to use the xanax at minimum. Dont take it unless it is absolutely necessary. Will be praying for you...

Thank you so much! Little by little I've been feeling better but I still get those scary moments where I'm relaxed and my brain decides to remind me hey let's freak out about something lol so that's what I'm trying to overcome right now.
