Hey it definitely seems to increase heart rate. I've been on sertraline for 6 weeks now and every night it causes me to have very vivid dreams and I wake up with a rapid beating heart.

Sertraline is noted for insomnia and disturbed sleep, it does wear off after a while, but it all depends if you can tolerate it, I was on it for two months, but had to also take a small dose of trazadone to help me sleep, as it wasn't doing anything for me, I had to change to trazadone only. I would go back and see your doctor, he may suggest beta blockers to slow the palpatations down, till the Sertraline kicks in properly. X

Omg I though you must have just started it, but if you're coming off it, I think some of the withdrawal symptoms can be similar, I was only on it for 2 months and couldn't wait to get off it, only just took my last tablet last week, and starting on trazadone now, but it feels like I'm going two steps back, I know you have to give them time to settle in, just wish it was sooner rather than later. I'm peri menopausal as well and I don't think that helps, we women are made of strong stuff though lol x
