Oh i really feel for you. Firstly don't avoid the situations. Keep going - you aren't going to pass out or die. Take each event you get through as proof and an achievement. Bank these good times. When you feel like anxiety is coming on then take yourself out of the situation - go to the toilet, go outside, recite a song/poem or something else you have to concentrate on. Breathe nice and deeply. Try these. Hope these work for you. It helps me.

Probably better to do something about this sooner than later as you don't want it interfering with your education as that could have lasting interference in your adult life.

There is helpline support from Anxiety UK, either on the phone or via email or in livechat with a trained volunteer. See anxietyuk.org.uk/

Other potentially useful helplines may be found at helplines.org/

This may not be a difficult issue to manage or fix at this time but you need to be careful that it doesn't get worse. Try to home in on the specific triggers of the anxiety. Sometimes its stress in another area of life that makes you think you ae socially anxious wen actually it's just circumstances and dealing with the circumstances can alleviate the social anxiety too.

If you still need help you could also try getting yourself an appointment with an NHS anxiety service. Full listing here; iapt.nhs.uk/services/ . They treat depression and anxiety and will help you find the triggers for your condition and do something about them. For some you can refer yourself by contacting them directly. But i repeat, you can probably work out the cause for yourself so do your own 'homework' first!

You should also be aware that many of the NHS services in those lists will not accept you unless you're over 17 or 18. Others require referral from GP so talk to your GP about this. Some of these services have useful websites and may signpost you to local support. Your GP may be able to get you a CAMHS referral which is for ages up to 19, depending on local access rules, but the waiting list is likely to be long. Self-help is likely to be more productive in the short term so do try give this some attention yourself before trying to get CAMHS help.

Push your GP to get you access to a locally available talking therapy. They should offer therapy for most types of anxiety or depression, and not just drugs! (guidance from NICE says so).

Don't be shy of asking for help- these services are there for you.
