Hi! I am truly really sorry that this is happening to you. I know how you feel. I have had anxiety and the same symptoms as you for 13 years. It really does suck. Just some ideas:

calm down, you arent gonna die i promise

go for the meds, i can garuntee that they will help, they helped me

get outta the house! maybe just go with a friend out to lunch for a start, it will really help

maybe go to a support group to talk it out?

therapy! it helps i promise

be optimistic! i know it sounds dumb but i promise it really will help!

best of luck, xoxo

Hi. Anxiety is rough on all of us. Try and find something that will help you relax. When I am anxious I go on a walk and get fresh air. I know you said getting out is hard, but the exercise also helps kick in those "happy" hormones and for the it has really helped with the side effects of anxiety. I also meditate and go to yoga and that really help relax me when I am tense.

Hi hogville

So sorry to hear your suffering from this terrible ugly thing called anxiety and yup anxiety sure can make you feel so sick dizzy lightheaded and make your heart race and many many other horrible symptoms. I have so many :(

To help cope with it I use my relaxation tape, deep breathing, write in my journal, come on here

I'm working on a self help program calle attacking anxiety and depression it's by Lucinda Bassett. It's worth taking a look

Hope you feel better

Today I sat in my front yard and it helped a lot. Tired of feeling like a prisoner. I had to back out of a dinner date for my 4 year anniversary. My wife has been understanding but I feel like its dragging everyone down.

I've been on Citalopram from 21 years now. Far too long!! Anyway, they are not working anymore, so I had to see a shrink of sorts that sorts all your meds out.

Citalopram is really for depression, not Anxiety.

She put me on Pregabalin for the anxiety, and it works a treat.

If you are still suffering with anxiety after 4-6 weeks of being on the Citalopram, I would suggest you go back to see your GP, and ask for some of the Pregabalin meds.

Start low, and build up if your anxious about taking new meds.

My shrink was amazing. She wanted me to start at a really high dose, but after having a really bad time on Trazadone, she understood that I needed to take it slowly. And slowly is how I did it. Don't be bullied either by your GP. Ask for advice on here if you need it. We have far more time for you, than most GP's. xx
